teaching individual and group skills. Among them we focus on how to deal with resistance, how to
deal with conflict, the appropriate kind of executive committee discourse, how to work together to bear down to create hard
core successful business decisions, how to prepare and use the executive committee to not review written material but to make
decisions only the executive committee should make, and many other skills.
We help the executive committee leader understand the process of executive committee development, how to structure this process
and lead the meetings to make them highly effective. We explore what the role of the leader is and how the leader intervenes to
continue to help the individuals on the team when the BUSINESS OF PEOPLE staff is not there. We also work with the team to
understand their responsibilities as a leadership team, how to commit to their own development, keep the process on track, and
drive the executive committee functioning to the highest level. We are teaching the individual, the leader, and the team
and creating an opportunity for learning far beyond the length of time the BUSINESS OF PEOPLE group is working with the executive
committee itself.
As many leaders know there are few investments that are more important in an organization than raising the level of its leadership
function. In addition to what we have said above, this also means helping the leadership team members develop leadership underneath
them, to get out of the weeds, separate management from strategic leadership, and really understand their own development as an
